What information do you collect, and how do you use it?
Like many other websites, we collect two types of information—information that you voluntarily submit and information that is automatically tracked by your web browser. To receive access to certain features of our website, such as comments, newsletters, and subscribers-only content, you may be asked to provide personal information such as your name, email address, or other information. By providing us with this information, you grant us permission to use and store it for these purposes, and to communicate with you about these features as we deem necessary. We have a no-spam policy, and you are able to opt-out of our communications at any time and for any reason by selecting the unsubscribe link at the footer of our emails. We do not share your personal information with third parties with the only exception being MailChimp, the email service provider whom we use for our email newsletter. When you subscribe to our newsletter, MailChimp automatically receives your name and email address to help us provide this service.
Note that some features of our website, such as comments, make your personal information (including your name, email address, website, and comments) available for viewing by other users/viewers of our website. When you make your information available in this way, it may be seen, collected, and used by other users/viewers with or without your permission. We are not responsible for any unauthorized or improper use of such information that you voluntarily share on our website. We are also not responsible for the republishing of our content or users’ comments on other websites or media without our permission.
In addition to information that you voluntarily submit, some anonymous information (i.e., information not personally identifiable to you) is automatically collected through your web browser via cookies. This information includes your IP address, browser type, operating system, screen size, device type, country of residence, browsing behavior, and other browser-related information. We use this information to administer the website, track browsing behavior, analyze content performance and trends, and display content according to your preferences. Such anonymous traffic data of multiple users/viewers may be aggregated and shared with advertisers, sponsors, and other business partners.
